Not too long ago, a man in Iowa was arrested for flying the flag upside down to protest eminent domain seizure of his property for an oil pipeline.

http://www.kcrg.com/content/news/Iowan-accused-of-desecrating-US-flag-in-oil-pipeline-protest-389996562.htmlAlexander Fayardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10026747753184072678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7986424795849702695.post-50132706933902781072016-09-02T22:41:39.031-04:002016-09-02T22:41:39.031-04:00I'm not sure those laws prohibiting flag desec...I'm not sure those laws prohibiting flag desecration, when done as protest, can be enforced. When I see people droning the pledge, it reminds me of how catholics recite prayers during mass: automatically and without questioning any of the dogma attached (I grew up catholic). Saying Kaepernick disrespected 'America' or the 'National Anthem' is the equivalent of saying he committed blasphemy, and I think you will be saddened to know that there are anti-blasphemy laws still on the books: 40 states have laws prohibiting flag desecration.
