Writer/editor Arthur G Broadhurst has degrees from the University of Richmond and Colgate Rochester Divinity School and additional graduate study at the University of Rochester. A retired minister of the Unitarian Universalist Association, he was formerly chaplain and chairman of the religion department at a prep school in New Hampshire and minister of Unitarian Universalist churches in Vermont, Connecticut and Florida. During his career he was administrator of several college prep schools and an executive at the National Association of Independent Schools. In later years he was active in business, retiring in 2001 as President/CEO of School, College and University Underwriters, Ltd., a reinsurance company based in Bermuda.
